Attic Guest Suite
When our client’s lifestyle changed to include their children visiting with grandchildren, it became obvious that another bathroom was needed in their home. Also needed was more finished space for kids to romp, and occasionally for guests to stay. This caused them to reinvent their finished but tired attic into a spacious and thoughtfully designed multi-function space. They followed their instincts to maintain the attic as one large and flexible space (with a new full bathroom) where people could get away from the rest of the house. The new bathroom has a large, walk-in tiled shower and an extended vanity, providing comfort and convenience for all members of the family. The newly remodeled attic features a comfortable seating area with a custom-built free-standing bookcase and storage divider, which breaks up the large space and allows some of the area to be partitioned from the rest. Built-in drawers and shelves in the two oversized closets make smart use of the eave space, offering ample storage for everyone in the family, as well as for off-season household items. This project is a great example of how existing space can be repurposed and reinvented to the delight and satisfaction of the entire family.
