A Beloved Home Spectacularly Reimagined
When our clients first saw this home, next door to their own, they knew someday they would love to purchase it. When they learned their neighbors planned to sell (before the house hit the market) they quickly seized the opportunity to buy it. They loved the home and saw a lot of potential to make it fully their own.
Their first big project was an award-winning exterior renovation with a patio and custom pergola. One area they especially wanted to improve and personalize was the primary suite. The primary bathroom needed some updates and there were areas available to expand and improve closet storage.

A Vision for the Perfect Primary Suite
Gallagher Remodeling worked closely with the homeowners to reimagine the entire available space as a sanctuary. This would be a space with a spa bathroom, with closets and storage that provide a place for everything. The result is a truly extraordinary private retreat.
The primary bathroom boasts a heated tile floor with a marble mosaic feature in the center. Surrounding this heart of the space is a generous master shower finished in stunning marble tile, along with a beautiful freestanding soaking tub positioned beneath a window, a separate water closet (giving the toilet its own private space) and a vanity flanked by tall wall cabinetry.
THG Paris bath fixtures are artistry in brushed nickel displaying elegant circular detailing. Holly Hunt wallpaper further elevates the space with a sense of luxury.
The Dream Closet
Working with a Midwest custom woodworking shop, Gallagher Remodeling converted every inch of available and usable space to meet the homeowner’s needs – which they calculated for all of their clothing, cosmetics, and other storage.
The walk-in closet features floor-to-ceiling custom cabinetry designed around specific clothing storage needs. This extraordinary cabinetry is amplified by innovative lighting, including lighted closet rods in hanging sections, internal cubby lighting, and enclosed storage lighting which is activated by jamb switches which trigger interior LED lighting automatically when cabinet doors are opened. It’s the kind of thoughtful, functional detail that separates a beautiful closet from a truly exceptional one.
A Bedroom Transformed
The primary bedroom was also reimagined. More built-in custom cabinetry, with a warm wood finish adds to the calm, welcoming aesthetic. Light and airy, with beautiful Wolf Gordon wallpaper and warm hardwood floors, it’s a space designed for rest and retreat.
“I love the tranquility of the space, and how well each area complements the others. It’s a space we can both use without ever feeling like we’re in each other’s way,” says the homeowner.
Her husband’s favorite surprise has been the heated floor: “We had no idea we’d love it as much as we do — especially during the cold winter months.”
Enjoyment for the Long Term
These homeowners love their home and made choices they would “enjoy for years to come.” That philosophy is evident in every selecttion made throughout this project, from the custom cabinetry with innovative lighting design, to the French faucets and elegant tile.
